ResearchKit-based apps are help researchers learn more about diseases. Three universities are offering people with certain conditions to participate in clinical studies. They collect data via an iPhone or an Apple Watch. Duke University is studying autism with it’s Autism and Beyond App. The app uses facial recognition videos and other methods to screen for autism. Oregon Health & Science University launched MoleMapper to track moles. Users take photos of a mole and the app lets you track it over time. And John Hopkin’s is tracking epilepsy with it’s EpiWatch App. Using Apple Watch sensors, EpiWatch helps to detect future seizures.
